The number of financial complaints we received in the first half of 2024 rose by over 40%.

James Dipple-Johnstone, Deputy Chief Ombudsman, sets out what financial businesses and CMCs should do when a complaint is referred to our service – and the support we provide to assist with good complaint handling.
We’ve recently published data showing the number of complaints we received about financial businesses in the first half of 2023.
Overall, we received a total of 93,114 complaints between 1 January and 30 June 2023. You can read the full data, available now, on our website.
