We’ve published a public consultation on our strategic plans and budget for 2022/23. It sets out the volume of complaints we expect to receive and resolve over the next financial year, and how we expect to fund our service. The consultation is open until 31 January 2022. We recently published an action plan focused on changing and improving the Financial Ombudsman Service, to deliver a better service for customers in a rapidly changing financial services environment. It focuses on five key themes and sets out how we will deliver for all our customers and provide fair and reasonable financial dispute resolution more quickly.
We’ve recently added some information to our website about our approach to the complaints we’ve seen about insurance claims for business interruption caused by Covid-19 "at the premises". Our online guidance sets out some of the things we consider when asked to investigate a complaint.
It’s 20 years since the Financial Ombudsman Service officially became the single ombudsman scheme for consumer complaints about financial products and services. We remain committed to sharing our experience and insight to prevent complaints and unfairness arising.
