We're incredibly proud of the diversity of the people who work for the ombudsman – and we want everyone to know about it!
That's why we regularly talk to our staff about our awareness-raising work to get their opinions on the events going on that matter to them and where they can get involved and make a difference.
For the last few years, our work with the LGBT community has involved regularly taking part in London Pride, working with magazines, websites and support groups around the UK to let LGBT people know they have a voice if they’re facing money problems. Our LGBT network have proudly represented us throughout and have played a key part in our role as a diversity champion for Stonewall.
The feedback we've had from LGBT people who've got in touch has been fantastic, so this year we wanted to really show our support for LGBT communities across the UK. So we're getting out on the streets in 2014, attending Pride events around the country. We're working in partnership with Gay Star News and taking part in the leading Pride events and celebrations in Brighton, Birmingham, London and Manchester.
Here are some photos from our most recent trips to Blackpool Pride on 13 June, London Pride on 28 June, Brighton and Hove on 2 August and Manchester Pride on 23 August.
And if you’d like to be out and about with the ombudsman next year, why not check out our careers page for opportunities to join us.
